Couple of weeks ago I ordered a full set of Bilsteins (4600s) for my 2023 XLT, hoping get the rear end to stop bouncing so much.

After a week or so, Shock Surplus contacts me and says the shocks are on back order. Says they won't be in until the end of March!

anyone eles getting this 'backorder' message from local dealers?

I am wondering if I should try and find some eleswhere.

You are more than welcome try to find them somewhere else. Just Google. Lots of places sell them.
