Default B and Overhaul

Just got my truck back from the local toy store ( https://www.mobile-install.com/ ). After hearing the Unleashed system, I knew I wouldn’t be happy. I decided to go with the base 8 speaker system and modify.

I replaced all of the door speakers, added Two 10” subs behind the back seat rests, and installed the amp from my 07.
Front Doors: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_301MPK...RO.html?tp=105
Rear Doors: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_301CPX...RO.html?tp=105
Amp: https://creativeaudio.net/xdi-1100-5/
Im not certain which processor they used, but I think it was an LC2.....also not sure where it is lol.
Fun fact on the 21's.....The factory amp has to remain as it is part of the communication loop.....or so I was told. They relocated it a bit to allow the sub box, and kept the center speaker hooked up to it.

Amp is right behind the stowable cargo box

Two 10" Audison subs in a sealed box behind the back seat rests. Only downfall is that I can no longer fold the seat bottoms up and have them latch. They still lock in the down position.

Overall….extremely happy. Hell of an upgrade.

That looks fantastic if you dont mind me asking what did all that run you parts and labor? Also was that a prefab enclosure or did they custom make it for you?

Prefab enclosure.

I bought the amp about a year ago after my jl900/5 burned a channel out. It was $650ish, and absolutely blows the jl away in every way.
The subs and box were $950, and the speakers, processor, a bit of dynamat in the doors and rear, and install labor were $2200.

Overall, a bit more than the Unleashed factory upgrade would have been, but several orders of magnitude better. The stock B and O speakers look pretty pathetic…. The magnets are just tiny. I’m willing to bet that one magnet from the Hertz speakers outweigh all 4 of the stock door speakers.

Don't blame you for not going with the unleashed. It was a complete disappointment. It should be the base sound and be expanded from there.
Ford made it "sound" like it was going to be a great system, but no.

After seeing the B and O door speakers, I’m glad I put my money where I did. I would have ended up doing the same thing, but left with ugly disconnected speakers in the headliner and headrests.

Sheesh. That explains the continuation of the horrible rolloff.

Did you replace the tweeters also? The B&O ones in my truck are already popping, it sounds horrible!

Did you ever find out where they mounted the processor? Also, any info on how they looped in the additional amp?

Haven't looked for it as I am sure it is behind what is left of the felt backing behind the back seat above the sub box. All I know about how they hooked the amp up is that they had to leave the stock amp in as it is part of some communications loop, and will throw codes if taken out. They left the stock center speaker hooked up to it, and I think it may have something to do with the chimes, turn signal sounds, ect.....but I could be wrong. Wish I could be of more help.
