Default Anyone do a muffler delete on their 2021 5.0 yet?

I’m picking up my 5.0 Monday and was thinking about doing a muffler delete the same week. Just wondering if anyone has a video of it. Possibly issues with cylinder deactivation?

F150 mufflers are a straight through design, dont see why they wouldve changed that for '21. I think youll be fine. I just replaced my muffler with a Carven-R and left the factory resonator.

Does Ford Racing parts still have a cat-back exhaust for that vehicle?

Noise doesn't assure that a vehicle is going to have a "good" sound. I hear loud trucks all the time that sound bad.

I'm pretty sure the only issue with cylinder deactivation will be listening to an unmuffled frankenmotor noise when it's a V4. You'd think that would only be low load and therefore quiet so not a concern...we'll have to wait and see (hear) I guess

That's what I'd be worried about. A guy up the street has a 2019 Silverado and he usually crawls by my house because there's usually kids playing in or near the street. For a while I couldn't tell what he had under the hood because it sounded like a 4 cylinder or a 6 cylinder. But one night when he went by he was getting after it a little and it had a nice V8 rumble. The cylinder deactivation might not be so noticeable? But he has an aftermarket exhaust.

On my GMC 5.3 with cylinder deactivation, I put an aftermarket muffler on (just the smallest difference, similar to removing resonator on factory exhaust with my F150), and I could hear the difference when it switched. But it was always at low load low RPM so it was a relatively deep sound and didn't bother me, but it sure didn't sound like a V8

Please make the truck as loud and obnoxious as possible. Only 1 out of every 2 around here sound like sht. Make sure to make the back lower than the front too.

lol, sorry just ranting. There are alot of stupid sounding trucks around my town though.

lol I know. Absolutely no one knows how to aim headlights. Even though the manual usually has pictures.

Okay, so update on muffler delete. I got it done yesterday. I will mention I got a muffler/resonator delete on my gmc 5.3 and it was loud but didn’t have a ton of drone. With the 5.0 2021 just the muffler delete, there was a TON of drone... so much that I went back 2 hours later and got the factory muffler put back on. Nice waste of $200. The truck sounded AWESOME. But I couldn’t deal with the cabin noise. And I had second thoughts about my neighbours in the morning. I’ll be getting a Borla Touring once they are released. I had the Borla Atak on my Sierra and it was amazing but EXTREMELY loud. Where I live now the sound echoes so I need something with a quieter cold start. That’s why I think the touring will be a great option for me. A deeper tone but not obnoxious. Anyone with a touring I’d love to hear about it. thanks!
