AMP Running boards on Powerboost
Anyone have experience installing AMP running boards on 2024 Lariat Powerboost? Had mine installed by a local company, sometime later started getting "Drive Control Errors" when driving. Took it into the dealer, turned out the rear running board bracket on the driver side had been hitting the Vehicle Dynamics module and had damaged it. Passenger side running board working fine. Driver side currently uninstalled. Wondering if the Vehicle Dynamics module can be rotated 90 degrees or possibly relocated to allow the driver side to be re-installed. AMP recently provided some brackets for the driver side to relocate the running board, down, but according to the installer the bracket still hit the connector for the module. Reputable company doing the install, they did cover the cost of module replacement and have been trying to resolve the issue with AMP.
This is why you install stuff like that yourself... I installed my AMP Boards myself but on my 2015 F150 Lariat. Loved them... My powerboost now has the ford oem power boards.
I liked the AMPS way better.
Good Luck.

They seem to drop down the same amount as the AMP boards. They are not quite as long as the AMP. They do not integrate with the trucks electronics. Sensors and magnets are installed in doors to tell when they are opened and closed. They seem pretty stable; I’m 300+. Happy with them so far.
Thanks I have the Amp boards on my Tremor for the wife or she would never be able to get in it. The Tremor is the 2nd F150 I put this same set on, so they're over 8 yrs old and still working fine. I'm buying a 25 Platinum PowerBoost , which has the factory boards on it. Problem is they hardly drop at all, I measured the difference, it is about 2.75" less drop with the factory boards. So I may end up removing them and installing the Rough Country boards. Wonder why they didn't use the OBD hookup to actuate the boards when a door is opened, less install time than putting the sensors on each door. Hey Thanks for the info , saves me from some possible issues.

I messed up and bought the Xtreme version for my Powerboost. I had bought them before for a Super Duty and liked the idea of the dual motors on each side. When I ordered them they asked if I had the V8 or 3.5 V6. I neglected to tell them it was the 3.5 that was the Powerboost model. Couldn’t be mad at anyone more than I was for myself. As much of my fault as the company who sold them to me. My thoughts were that the Powerboost model would not be any different from a power running board standpoint. They didn’t ask and I didn’t speak up. Too expensive and heavy to ship from East Tennessee back to Phoenix to get the right ones.
Anyway. I had to make the best of it. The issue was that the passenger side front motor and the drivers side rear motor were hitting some of the power cables, modules and such that run down the outside frame rails. My only option was to not use the 2nd motor on each side. I put the motor on the driver side front mounting bracket, and on the passenger side rear. I then mounted the other brackets without the motors attached to them to the other spaces. This solved my problem and nothing was rubbing or touching anything that could be damaged. The motor mounts are now basically just dead brackets, just like the set of boards that only have one motor per side to start with.
They have been working fine since last September. I just wished I had done more research before I paid for the 4 motor version.

When I had amps on my PB, installed them w/ motors in the rear. Only required a tiny bit of force to move the cooling line out of the way. Drilled through the back curved floor area and put grommets on to get the wires out powering off of the aux batt. Installed F250 boards in their place. Then I got 150 long boards and put them on the 250 arms after swapping the aluminum T nuts between the boards. Then I decided to just go ahead and use factory 150 arms and swapped them back. If using 250 arms/motors on the 150, you need to swap the deploy/stow wires in the 6 pin connector under the truck. The motor directions are reversed between the arms.
