Default Additional 2021 Details

Several of these details were revealed in the hundreds of pages of the 2021 mega thread (thanks to our Ford insiders!), and this article had a nice summary of some chassis changes:

https://www.motortrend.com/cars/ford...t-look-review/

Such as:
  • Composite leaf springs on certain lower-payload applications
  • Monotube shocks on higher-end trim levels (didn’t the 2018 and up get these?)
  • Frame reinforcements for the wider track
  • Increased rigidity to improve ride (the frame or the body, or both?)
  • Better cab to frame bushings
  • Repositioned front stabilizer bar
  • Vacuum brake booster ditched for electric assist (does this mean improved four wheel drive engagement?!)
  • Upgraded rotors and calipers
  • Adaptive Steering system from the Super Duty (reduces the steering wheel turns at low speeds)
Don’t get me wrong, it is cool hearing about clever new features like stowable shifter, sleeper seats, Sync 4, 12-inch screen, etc... but I am a geek for the powertrain and chassis improvements. Really looking forward to the Power Boost, 7.2 inverter, and all the other improvements to improve the daily drivability, NVH and overall refinement of the truck. When I need a truck I need it, but I only need it about 10% of the time, the other 90% is my family vehicle and daily vehicle.

And kudos to Ford... I put in a reservation on the new Bronco (four door Badlands). Maybe it will wear off, but I haven’t been this excited about a new Ford in a long time. I’ll probably come to my senses next spring when my lease is up and get the 21 F-150 (last four F-150s have served me well!). But for now, in the middle of crazy coronavirus, it’s fun to escape a bit and think of playing in a Bronco.

Can you tell from this info if the bed is different from the 2015+? I have a Diamondback cover on my 2017 and would love to know if I can transfer it to a 2021

I have this on the wife's '17 Edge.

It makes me smile, when I get to drive it. Pulling a U-Turn from a stoplight in an F-150 will make us all smile. Great improvement.

From everything I’ve seen in the specifications, the beds dimensions are the same (a sigh of relief for owners and the aftermarket!). The specs are on the Ford website for a double check.

One change the caught my eye is the lockable under-seat storage with the 40/20/40 configuration. Not 100% sure this is new for 2021, but it's not lockable in my 2015.

Any idea if Ford will put their HUD technology in the higher end trim packages? My wife's Lincoln Navigator has it and it is awesome.

What's new for 2021 is the lockable storage under the back seat. I would assume the storage for the 40/20/40 front seat has not changed.
