Default Adaptive Learning

I want to disable this permanently but keep reading mixed reviews that it "may" shorten the trans life. Anyone have any long term reports? Also is the trans the only thing it effects with disabling it? My truck is a 2023

Adaptive Learning. Just another stupid and useless programing feature from Ford. About as useful as the 80% Battery Charging System.

I just passed 77,000 miles. Up until around 68,000 I had no tranny issues whatsoever. Since 68,xxx it has started to buck and clunk and, well, act like a lot of the complaints I've read about in this and other forums. At 70,000 I had the fluid and filter replaced. After the service there was hardly any change to the tranny behavior. Last week I connected my Forscan, erased the adaptive tables, then turned off adaptive learning. It is marginally better.
In my case, the bad behavior is most noticeable when starting from a stop, and only at very slow speeds. Once I get past 3rd gear I've not had any issues. If the truck sits for a few days, my first attempt at moving (forward or backward) can be met with a lurch.
Having said all that, it does not bother me enough to have it looked at. I really like my truck.

As to your second question, I do not know if it effects anything else. I doubt it does.
