Acceleration stumble and shifting issues
My '21 F 150 with the 2.7 (22000 miles) is giving me trouble. Several times now when I have tried to pass slower traffic at about 40 mph I will depress the gas pedal and there is no response - I have to floor it to get the truck to go. I almost caused an accident about 2 weeks ago due to this problem. In addition, the truck has rough downshifts at low speeds (30 to 40 mph) under light throttle conditions. I have had it to the dealer a few times for this issue and am starting to lose confidence in the truck. I want it to perform like it should! The problems are intermittent and the dealer has not been able to recreate them to fix them.

If you are not getting a CEL then often these type of events are caused by a major knock detection. Pick up a can of B12 chemtool fuel system cleaner and run it on 1/2 - 3/4 a tank of premium. Make sure to run premium! Especially if you have a 36 gallon. You don’t want to dilute it too much. See if it acts any better. Give it few hundred miles help clean out the carbon. Poor spray patterns combined with carbon and low octane fuel are notorious for causing knock. Particularly in hot temps.
