501a question
maybe somebody can answer a question for me as the ford rep on the phone could not help me. I pickup a new 501a truck yesterday from out of state, and when I came home and was setting up the truck. I looked in the owners manual for the keyless code and it was not in there. the rep on the phone had me remove the rubber in the cup holder and there was a key I found in there . the ford rep could not tell me what the key was for and could not help me with the factory keyless entry code and said I should go to a ford dealer that they can get the factory code for me and tell me what the key is for . so what is this key for anybody know ? thanks
Key should be for opening door if battery is dead. Should be a plastic card with master keyless entry code somewhere with your paperwork. Might also have a pair of keys for box links in bed.
thanks for the reply , I do not have the master code it was not in the truck or the paper work. I will check the key for fitting the glove box and I guess I will go to my closest dealer for the code thanks again

I would bet the door code is on a sticker, on the BCM (interior fuse box). It has been on every Ford up until now, anyway.
problem is: usually the sticker is on the part of the BCM that can’t be seen without removing the module from its mount.
if you bought the truck from my dealership, and we didn’t give you the code, we would pull it for you, for free. Every dealer is different, though.
another thing that sometimes works: put a key in the back up slot and then the truck on, without starting.
the. Turn the truck off, put the OTHER key in the backup a lot and then the truck on again. In older F150s they would display the code in the message center, as by presenting both keys you are demonstrating that you own the truck and can be trusted with the code.
