Default 2k ProPower issue

My ProPower fails when I plug-in a 1,000 watt converter to charge batteries. A warning populates stating that the power consumption exceeds the propower then shuts down. I have contacted progressive dynamics who manufactures the converter. They confirmed that the maximum input draw is 1k. Has anyone else experienced issues like this? The propower powers my rigid shop vac just fine, why am I having issues with the converter?

What is the draw on your shop vac? I know with the previous internal 400w rated outlets, pretty much anything over 200w would trip it.

Is the converter pulling 1000w when you first connect the power? I suspect it's pulling a lot more.

It pulls 450, then 700, then 550 then fails. I called the manufacturer progressive dynamics. The maximum input is 1k.

How many amps does it pull?

Less than 15amp, it plugs into a standard 15amp outlet.
