Default 24PB shift handle

Good morning all-
I am THIS close to buying a 2024 KR PB here in SE FL. Truck has a touch over 20k miles. Seems to be in really good condition. My only worry is the shift handle. It has what I would call a fair amount of "play", especially when out of the park position. It folds down and up fine. Anything I need to be concerned with? Normal?

Any OTHER gotchas I need to know about? I'm a brand new member and have tried a search, but would love some quick feedback from the seasoned owners in this group?

Looking forward to joining the family!

Many thanks!

Are you buying it from a Ford dealer? If you are I would definitely buy a Ford Extended Service Plan especially with a power boost if for anything the peace of mind.

It is common enough to have Gear Shift Module (GSM) issue that there is a TSB (technical service bulletin) out about it where it seems IMHO to be mainly related to Powerboost models more often, and the console shifter most of the time. Parts are in back order too at times and people wait for weeks at times to get it fixed. It often starts as a loose handle and then it may not fold up or down and then it may not shift out of park and you are stuck. A TSB is not free unless under warranty, it just tells the techs how to fix it because they get the issue often enough. I would not have this knowledge and issue be the only reason you don’t buy this one if it meets your other needs and price is right. See if you can negotiate a replacement into the cost. I certainly would not fold it up and down a lot and I would treat it with kid gloves.
