Default 22 ABS / Speed Sensor / Tone ring / Module issue

I have a 22 Lariat without max tow. I recently purchased it used from a dealer with miles outside the warranty. I'm having trouble with codes for ABS, Bliss, park assist, etc. It started with what I thought were very hard shifts then the codes came. I brought it back and was told its the battery from sitting so they charged it and cleared the codes. It came back later that day on the drive home. They agreed to investigate and replaced the rear speed sensors and harness. This eliminated it for two weeks. Its now back again.

What I thought were hard shifts I now believe is the ABS engaging the brakes. After a few hard hits, the codes fly and the ABS is disabled. It drives smooth until the lights go off a day or so later and restarts.

I searched and found many examples but no confirmed correction. The dealer is not covering any of the costs and I'm not crazy about paying them if they don't know what to do. I have a significant amount of money sunk into this and cant get out if it like this. The bad part is once the Ford app updated, it gave me the history of codes (before my purchase) and the previous owner had these issues and decided to trade it in so they obviously knew about it when the sold it. Had I knew, I would've moved on.

Since replacing the speed sensors appears to have an impact, I'm guessing the issue is between the sensor and tone ring. From images I've found online it doesn't look like much can happen to the tone ring other than clog with debris. Pulling the axles to check is outside my garage toolbox skills.

If you've had a similar issue I'd appreciate what you did to resolve this. I've been told to dump it and take the hit but I can't do it to someone else. After three timing chains on the 3.5, I was hoping for a better experience on this one.

You do know there are codes set to offer a diagnostic point to begin from!
You just got taken by the dealer.
If there was a fault trail on this vehicle beforehand, it may interest an attorney.
Get the Codes read and look up the descriptions so you have an idea what is going on what the fault area might be as further proof.
Good luck.

Non disclosure by dealer of faults. Time to hire an attorney
