Just purchased a 2023 F150 High Lariat with the work surface instead of the console that has the storage. Has anyone removed the work surface and installed the console part with the lid and storage? Bought truck with 8200 miles and it has a lot of add ons, the work surface is worthless to me.

 

Wow the dumb A##@#@***ss at ford really took away the console storage for that stupid flat surface work area. They could have done both. LOL

That folding shifter is the dumbest thing I have ever seen in my life. Makes the shifter feel all sloppy.

 

Looks like DZLPlati18 did the opposite, swapped his center console lid for one with an interior work surface. I'm sure you can follow the video he made and do the swap.

 

Not sure what your concern is. The work surface doesn't remove the console storage. There is a latch at the opposite end from the latch that opens the work surface to access the console storage area. At least thats how my truck a 2022 works. Maybe the 23s are different.

 

My 2023 Lariat has the work surface along with console storage. Same as geezerha noted.

 

Reach down a bit more for the release.

 

If you do the swap I would be interested in the work surface.

Go look at the non WS lid. Does it move you enough to invest the $$$ needed to make the change
