Hi all!

I have never replaced the OEM lug nuts on previous trucks, but want to on this one because normally I have always gotten locks on them, but don't have them on this truck. Since I plan to add a locking lug nut anyway, I thought I would just replace them all. I know locking lug nuts aren't perfect, but it beats having nothing since my truck has the 20" wheels and sits outside all the time. We are in a safe neighborhood, but sometimes those are the best targets for that kind of thing.

Anyway, I have found a few old threads on it, but I am so clueless when it comes to lug nut sizing and I don't want to drop the money on a good set just to find they aren't right, or worse seem to be right but aren't and become a safety issue. I have heard Gorilla is good. I would prefer them to be made in the USA, I don't want just the cheapest set that will fit, but really good solid ones.

I have black wheels, I wouldn't mind having black lug nuts, but not essential. Just needs to have at least one locking nut.

I think the 2021 studs equal to the previous models.

I purchased from CJ Pony and they identify what models years the part numbers apply to. I have the Gorilla, but some will say the McGuard holds up better, especially if you live in a salty climate.

Scroll up a handful of posts or so for a link to CJ with the ones I purchased to see if your model year is also listed.

The important part with the Ford wheels is to get the Acorn Bulge seat. Many will reference the part number with XL in it. That XL means Extra Long. In my findings for the 2016 model, the XL was not needed as many suggest. Plus the XL sticks out far enough to make your skinny wheels/tires look like a semi truck. In my opinion.

There are a few experts here that can contradict what I said so good to have opinions. If you see something listed to fit the '21though I feel it is safe to trust it.

 

I put Gorillas on my 2019 shortly after getting it, and they started to rust. I live in MN, so lots of road salt. I'm sure the Gorillas would've lasted a while, but I will be going with McGard this time in the hopes that they hold up better. Definitely more expensive than Gorillas though. They were chrome. Can't comment on the black.

Edit: you said you wanted Made in USA. McGard it is. It looks like Gorilla is made in Taiwan. McGard also has a lifetime warranty.

Did you happen to find a part # for the McGard lugnuts?

 

I just installed the Gorilla lugnuts yesterday. I couldn't find any Mcgards with the bulged bearing area.

 

I ran the Gorilla lug nuts on my 2015 from nearly new till January of 2021 and they looked like new when I traded. We have winters with considerable snow and we salt and brine the roads. They worked well for me.
