Can someone please point me to an existing thread if it exists for camper shells that fit the new bed dimensions of the 2021 F150? I emailed Snugtop, Leer, and ARE weeks ago and none responded with an ETA of one that fit.

 

I don't think they have come out with molds yet for the 2021+ series. I did email ARE asking if they planned on matching the oddball colors like Antimatter Blue, and apparently they claim to match any paint code the F150 will offer.

Like you I am looking into caps, and I don't think there is a thread on them yet.


Since we're on this topic, I am looking into caps for my future 2021 Scab 8' bed. Particularly, I'm looking for a mid-height body styled cap with a roof rack with a minimum of 300 lbs rating.

That leaves me with two options:

• Leer 180CC with Caprack
• ARE MX HD with internal skeleton and rack

I actually have the Leer 180CC on my 2007, and structurally the cap is great. Never had any issues with the base cap. But the accessories and components, like the locks, lights, fuse box, etc. have all had various small issues. So I'm considering switching to the ARE cap.

The Leer 180CC with Caprac has either a 300 or 400 lbs capacity depending on where I get the information. The ARE MX HD has a 600 lbs capacity, which is more than I need, but certainly stronger.

All of the non-commercial caps are limited to 150-200 lbs, which is insufficient for my needs.

Does anyone have experience with the ARE MX HD or CX HD models?
