2012 3.5 charging issue?

2012 3.5 charging issue?
Hi all,
little stumped on this one my 2012 3.5 eco. 120,xxx miles. I was on my way home from a decent drive and happened to notice my voltage was down 12.8 12.6 Odd cause headlights on wipers on and defrost going. Tryed turning each off and no change.
Figured well I’m gonna need a alternator. But then it was up to 13.4 then 13.9… but then back down into the higher 12s. Come to notice once I’m off the gas it sits at 13.4-.9 I nursed it 2 hours home. Battery is less then a year old but did notice it sits off at 12.9 the next morning.
when i started it up at home it jumps to its 14.2 then 13.9 eventually and back into 12.9 in gear.
im going to get my battery tester from work and scan tool but just seeing if anyone else has had this issue ?
And yes I know this is a smart charge system just don’t think it would hit so low with such a load.
