Default 2.7 vs 3.5

Does the 2021 2.7 have cam phaser issues like the 3.5? does the 5.0 have this issue?

No, the 2.7 has been a solid motor. Mine has 50,000 miles and runs like a champ. I asked a service adviser at my local Ford dealer about changes to the 2021 3.5 to cure the cam phaser issue. He said that Ford put a slight delay in the start sequence to allow the electric oil pump to move oil to the top of the engine before the starter comes on. So far I've not found any confirmation of cam phaser problems in the 2021 3.5 engines.

I can't tell you about the 5.0

The only thing you will miss if the V8 sound. The 2.7 is amazingly strong. Very quick, great mileage.
