Default Sync update necessary?

Hey guys . About a month and a half ago , I bought a used 2016 F-150 FX4 regular cab with the 2.7 . It is just what I was looking for. One issue, I can't seem to link my phone up to it ? Tried pulling the radio fuse( to reinitiate) , but no success. I spoke with Ford customer relations, according to them, I probably need the update on Sync to 5.9 and that should fix the phone sync issue???? Any thoughts?

Welcome to the forum. Check Ford website for Sync updates using your VIN.

Wrong section.....

And, no your sync 3 version max is 3.4. There is no version 5.9 for sync 3 that I am aware of. You will also need a new USB hub and a wireless car play adapter if you want to go wireless.

Visit cyanlabs for the update.

Your best move:

- See what version SYNC you are using. If it's not 3.4 then go here and update to 3.4:

https://cyanlabs.net/

You didn't say if you are using wired or wireless, but that shouldn't matter.
You can get a plug-in wireless adapter for $40+

If wired you may want to change the cubby plug-in module.
