Default Who is an oil fitting/hose Guru?

I'm looking for some guidance on setting up a remote oil filter mount and cooler. I don't want to use a kit, as I want to use a higher flow/longer life filter, so I need to mix and match components, which are available, but not always with specs.

The block adapter was easy, found some pricey racing parts with temp and pressure taps, and less pricey options. 22m x 1.5mm for the 3.5 eco, gasket is 2.397 ID x 2.753 OD. 2.942 OD for the FL500S, but i found the FL820S probably fits (was scraping when I tried to install it, but continued to spin). Since the 820 is 3.66 in diameter, any adaptor 3.5" or smaller diameter will fit. I'm going to use an adaptor that has fittings on the face.

Push-on and AN fittings appear to be the options. I presume push-on are the easiest to set up. Are there and negatives to this type? OEM hose lines that are under pressure tend to have crimped ends, and I don't want to blow a hose off a fitting. I saw a recommendation for push-loc fittings and hose, but could only find that type of hose rated to 200F.

Not finding a reliable source of information on flow rates for the hoses. Seems 10AN should be ok, could use some insight here.

Lots of mounts out there, but few list the filter fitting size. Still searching filter specs, looking for high efficiency 20 micron with 2-3 times the flow rate of the FL500, which is 10-12gpm. 8psi bypass.

Bypass thermostat housing. I would like to add a cooler later, but not without a bypass, as too cold oil is not better than two hot. I don't know enough about this part to save my own soul.

I have a mishimoto oil cooler kit on mine with the m22 sandwich plate and 180* thermostat.

Thanks, but I'm looking to install a cooler in a location I prefer, which requires custom length lines.

Summit racing is a good source for hoses and fittings. Mishimoto also sells pre made hose in 3,4 and 6' lengths.

I usually got my oil filter sandwich adapter from Racerpartswholesale.com and got the t-stat controlled one to run aeroquip lines to an oil cooler. I suppose you could get a cap off system that runs to a remote oil filter unit and then t-stat controlled from there, but that adds a lot of complication. You're accomplishing a lot by adding the lines and the cooler in itself because of another quart or so of capacity when the t-stat is open.
