Under the dash throttle controller

I'm having an issue with my 2005 4x4 f150 with a 5.4. The plug by my gas pedal for the throttle controller. The factory plug I cannot break loose, I slid up the red tab but I cannot disconnect it. Is there a trick, or something else that I have to do besides sliding up that red tab?
