Default So which Tuners have the 2018 5.0 w/10spd figured out?

Hello,

I've got a 2018 5.0 F150 XLT w/10spd and am fairly disappointed with the OEM trans shift schedule on the truck. In all honesty, its probably the worst shifting auto I've ever owned. Granted, I'm more of a manual guy myself and have only owned 3 other auto cars/trucks to date with the previous auto being a 6R80 in a 2013 F150 Ecoboost. That truck shifted perfectly fine with no issues and ran smooth.

With the 10R80, during light throttle, normal driving the truck is all over the place. Stumbling, bucking, surging and sometimes even falling flat on its face with dead spots at various points of throttle input. If I stand on the gas, it wakes up and behaves as expected for the most part. But this is only while already in motion. From a stop, sometimes I wonder if there is a large Turbo under the hood when stomping the gas. At times it has a very noticeable delay before it realizes I've asked it to go all out. I'm not 100% sure if its a trans tuning issue alone or a combo of engine/trans tuning in general but it seems pretty clear to me that Ford threw this tune together just to ram these trucks out the door.

I traded in a well tuned (AED) 2013 5.0 Mustang GT for this truck and that tune on that car seems to have spoiled me. Its was butter smooth yet angry at the drop of a hat when called on.

So with all that said, anyone know of some good tuners who have this F150 10R80 figured out yet? I love the truck but it runs like I tuned it myself as a clueless monkey with a laptop and an internet connection.

Thanks for any experiences and recommendations you can offer

I haven’t read any complaints about Oz Tuning on them. I haven’t used it myself though.

I ran 5 star before the whipple, no issues.

Im sure oz’s tune would be much faster.

The omega tune works quite well, much better then stock. The adaptive learning is alive and well after the tune. It was pretty funny driving it the day after 4 quarter mile runs in sport mode. It didn't understand why I wasn't full throttle. Also the tune knocked over a 1/2 second off my time.

I just finished with the tuning process with Matt at ID Motorsports and cannot say anything but good things. He was super responsive to emails and blazing fast with tune revisions, usually resulting in same day service. I'll be doing a full write up about my experience with him, as well as with VMP, Lund, and AED.
