operating systems for live link software
I can't find on sct's website what operating system is required to run their sct device updater and/or the live link software for datalogging. I almost purchased a cheap windows 10 laptop, a while back but canceled that order after hearing what guys around here had to say about the computer i was looking at.
there are some smoking deals at best buy on renewed chrome books, and honestly i have no clue if that would be adequate for datalogging and/or device updating.
any advice is welcome, thanks

I've honestly had great luck (knock on wood) with my cheap windows 10 laptop/tablet from Amazon. I leave it in my truck and use it fairly regularly for datalogging.
Black Friday is coming up, snag one on the cheap.

Livelink and SCT Device Updater work fine for me on my windows 10 machine. My crappy SCT device on the other hand refuses to accept an update, but it still loads and accepts my custom tunes just fine so I'm not touching it.
My son owns a software and technology sales and marketing business, and he picks up refurbished laptops all the time for his employees. He has one right now with a 13" screen with windows 10 that I think I'm going to pick up from him. He actually owes me money for a set of wheels so I think we're going to do some horse trading.
I can only speak for the GTX tuner, it does not need nor can use a direct computer connection. All updates and log files are handled via the Cloud wireless network. It is informative to use LiveLink to chart and graph the logs, lots of information there! Connecting my GTX to my Win 10 computer only supplies power to use the simulation mode. KM
