So the tune has been working mint, so happy. I still haven't datalogged the tune to move any further with the Nox tune. I was wondering if it was just my butt dyno that was telling me this thing puts down a bunch more power with the shift points at 6500 in Sport vs 6000rpm in normal. I inputted the torque values by gear, using dyno numbers that seem realistic to me (no flaming, this is not the point of the post).

Basically, the torque delivered, even well past the torque or horsepower peak is greater when multiplied by a lower gear (later shift).

Torque to output shaft lb/ft
RPM Gear 1 2 3 4
2000 1334 749 486 365
2500 1397 784 509 382
3000 1501 842 547 410
3500 1543 866 562 422
4000 1614 906 588 441
4500 1605 901 585 439
5000 1585 889 578 433
5500 1543 866 562 422
6000 1376 772 502 376
6500 1230 690 448 336

Are you worried about exceeding the factory redline by that much?

Yes lol. However, the engine is designed to run to 7K rpm. I think for the brief pulls to those ranges it should be okay. Shift points are lower when not in sport mode, so it only revs to 6800 rpm in sport, so I think it’s still within the design parameters of the engine.

It will get interesting when there’s a shot of Nitrous along with the high revs and excellent shifts. Running 11’s shouldn’t be too difficult building off this kind of baseline. I wouldn’t be surprised if I get there with a 125 shot.

I'm also tuned by ken and with a boss intake he opens them up quite a bit im shifting past 7k like around 7200-7300 or so, might want to look into the boss well wort the bang for the buk imo.

If you're shifting at 6800, what rpm will you spray until?

Same here. I shift at about 7100 with the Boss intake. I'm thinking when I install my cams it will be 7400ish.

I'm happy with where it is, my focus is getting the NOS dialed. I want to run 11's, that's the goal. Not to be ignorant, but no one beats a 12sec 4WD truck on the street, (not even the local supercharged F150's lol) so it's just a talking point that it will be as fast as a Helcat lol.

I'll spray a full shot from 4k rpm and have it shut down just under the rev limit, so I plan on spraying the full range, and only having the high side of the window as a safety. Ken will tell me what he wants, and I'll work inside of that.

Props to Ken, he's awesome, I'm very impressed.

Higher shift points make a huge difference. Some folks talk about “being outside the powerband”, but you really have to be way up there before you end up in a situation where the torque in the next higher gear is lower (after multiplication) than the net torque in preceding gear.
