Default MAK y-pipe in.

MAK 3” y-pipe with Dynomax mini bullets for resonators. Sounds pretty good. Very quiet at idle, couple dB’s louder cruising and a lot more authoritative at WOT. Could be a touch quieter cruising so I bought a Vibrant race muffler to put right at the end of the pipe...it’ll still be tucked up and hidden from view. It’s much easier to get the MAK pipe in than it is to get the oem pipe out...that thing fought me the whole way. lol
I had to fit the new stuff, mark it to cut for the bullets, remove it to hack everything up, re-fit it with the bullets in place, tack everything together, remove it again, weld it out then finally install it for good. I’ve definutely seen the bottom of my truck enough for one day. lol

I’ll add this thing next week...should make it just about right.

All they offer is 16ga aluminized. Given our climate I wasn’t too worried about it. I would have done stainless if it was an option though.

They have said in the past the supplier they had for stainless drastically changed their prices or something to that effect, so they stopped offering until they can source a new supplier.

I know you did this to prevent a cat meltdown, and when you took the factory stuff off did you see any signs of damage? Did the butt dyno register any power gains?

I didn’t see any damage yet so that was good.
And I haven’t gone WOT yet...Matt and I are re-logging everything just to give it a good health check. Better safe than sorry.
