Very curious why you went with a 2nd stock driveshaft after the 1st one broke instead of going custom?

Default Red Neck Shop

Shop said the we’re going to get a custom one made. BS
Now for some help, I went to salvage yard a picked up a replacement with exact same I’d sticker on it and put it on. Just to buy time while I order a custom one.
problem heavy vibrations from 25 mph and up. Any quick fixes that will help me for about a week or so while I wait on custom one?

Being from a salvage yard was it beat up any? Probably no longer balanced correctly. Could also be bad u-joints.

Default New replacement rear drive shaft

The one I picked up and installed turned out to be warped at the back shaft. That's the shaft I really needed to replace. So I had a local shop make me a new one. I called DS and they said they can't ship me a new one till after Christmas. So while I wait I'm going with the one the local shop made me today. Moved the slip joint next to the carrier bearing. Much better design.

Well it's fortunate a local shop replaced just the back part of the driveshaft for you until you can get a complete custom unit.
I can tell you that a custom steel 3.5" two piece shaft from Driveshaft Specialists is probably going to be $900+

I had an aluminum 4" x .125 HD driveshaft (RCSB) built for me by Ft. Wayne Clutch and Driveline for a little under $800. I've had this about 3 years now with no issues...

I'm reading that some guys go with aluminum and some guys go with steel. Which is stronger?
