Boost is not a measure of power or air flow.
Boost is a a measure of system back pressure or restriction for a given air flow.
Increase air flow efficiency on either the intake or exhaust side and back pressure or "boost" will go down while HP remains the same or goes up.

If only diesel people recognized this too. a million boost isnt good if you have a billion exhaust pressure pushing back. You can flow more on less boost with a properly size turbine.

As long as boost/backpressure is in the 1:1 range on a diesel you’re good. My built Cummings was 95psi boost / 100 psi backpressure with 45psi coming from the billet wheel 488 primary charger.

No, I’ve been on the no smoke bandwagon for years. Some is unavoidable at 4 figure power levels but on full boost mine was almost clean.

That was compounds? I need compounds on my jeep. I cant make enough boost on a small single up here at 6500' to do anything fun. when I drive up to 11,000 ft, forget it.

Its nice when you can spool a 488 and make a 4+:1 PR no problem.

I used them religiously back in the days of 4G63's and huge turbos. They work great for those times you wanted a nice quiet ride, and then have to unleash the fury. I will add, they are insanely loud. You'll never drive around with them open.
You're better off just investing in a really nice full exhaust system, the noise is seriously annoying.

I fo agree that if you want it open all the time it is not going to happen. Mine was loud (sounded good) so it was only open at the track or Mexico. That's the only time I would use it on the truck as well.
