Not sure i would run a safety loop attached to the transmission or transfer case. Id be worried about it cracking the case if the driveshaft broke.

Not my pic. but was told they can make these work for 5" shaft of you let them know.

Not a huge fan of the mounting but may be better than nothing?

Good info. I wonder if that general design could be modified to tie into the cross-member or frame-rail. I'm a little iffy about it being connected to the transfer case, but I suppose that's better than not having the loop at all from a safety standpoint.

I like the structural design of the VAS better but i'm also not sure it would fit my big ol' muffler. It looks like it would be in the way.
Going to wait until you report back. @Sharkhunt

If the VAS loop used bar stock instead of tubing they could gain clearance for the larger diameter shafts.

I have a set of Bwoody traction bars I'll be installing after the weather clears up.

I'm not sure like the design that connected to the rear of the transfer case. If things go really bad is seems like it would snap that boss off in a heartbeat.

I’ll report back when I get it installed.
This is a nice piece. But I wonder why companies don't, at a minimum, provide stainless hardware for out of cab applications? Living in the salt belt sucks....

Got my custom loop back from powder coating and installed it this evening. I fabricated this myself. Used 6” standard weight pipe for loop, 3/4” extra heavy pipe for sleeves in cross member & attaching loop to 0.25” x 1.5” flatbar, and grade 8 plated fasteners. I’m a pipefitter/ welder so fairly simple project.

Looks really good! That's basically exactly how I would build mine.
Except for 4wd we would have to use a different crossmember not the trans one like yours. (See OCMikes pic posted above)
