Default Drag tires for 2.7 SuperCrew 4WD 6spd

Do I want 29” tires for my 2.7 on the drag strip? I’m looking at putting Nitto 420S’s on a set of wheels to be used for racing only. That would raise my 3.55 gear to a 4.14.

Nitto 420's aren't drag tires. I would get actual drag radials.

That why I was asking if he was 4wd or 2wd. With 4wd they could be a nice sticky(ish) option that's street-able. But if he's 2wd he should look at other options. M&H has a few nice options around the 28-29" tire so does Mickey Thompson. I run ET street R's that are 29.4" 315/50/17. They fill up the wheel well decently as well.

4WD. Big diesels with 800+whp run these tires. I believe Dorian with the black single cab 5.0 that runs 10’s (YouTube) used these tires as well. They are a great drag strip option, I just need the proper size for my engine/gear ratio.

4wd these are fine (granted 4.11's sound too short for an ecoboost even with the 6 speed, too many shifts) You'll have good 60 foot and yank stuff off the line though.

if you were 2wd i wouldn't even bother looking outside of mickey thompson et street r's.

You should be fine with a street tire if launching in 4wd. I ran an inexpensive 31" Atturo AZ800 tire my last time out and hooked just fine.
I think the biggest thing is like you said getting the proper gear ratio for you.
For me, going from a 35" to 31" tire added an entire extra gear to my 1/4 mile run. 10-speed of course.

I think I'd go with a 30-30.5" tire
