Can a SCT X4 or BDX be used on more than 1 truck? I was hoping to split the cost of a tuner itself with my neighbor but neither of us are in the know on this subject. We would each be getting our own custom tunes

 

Nope, it's tied to the vin# (aka married) The only way it can be used on a different vehicle is by putting the stock tune back on the 1st vehicle it was used on.

 

And even then you are limited on how many times you can move it from one vehicle to the next.

 

Yep then you have to pay whom ever made the device to refresh it which costs almost as much as a brand new programmer. On the SCTx4 I have I think it's 5 unlocks then you have to send it in.
