In the event I have to buy a new tuner...what's the advantages or disadvantages for each one...bdx vs x4.

I was reading on sct's website and really couldn't ascertain which is better

Not sure. I had a BDX and am looking for either another or a X4. I don't plan to display it after the tune is loaded, so I dont care which I get.

I currently use the x4 also as a gauge pod to keep an eye on a few things since the truck is supercharged

BDX allows wifi features, however the biggest difference is vehicle support and 5 licenses as opposed to 1. The X4 can be married and unmarried several times on different vehicles before you need to pay to have it unlocked. The BDX and its cousin the GTX cannot...they are bound to 1 vehicle only. If your vehicle supports an X4, keep using it unless a hardware failure requires a change.
