Basic performance models suggestions
In a couple weeks I will be getting a f150 with the 5.0. I know I want long tube headers, my question is what brand? I had a set of pacesetters on my 1500 silverado and they sounded good, but just had problem after problem with the studs they sent with it and the flanges warped on one side. $300, you get what you pay for. So on this truck I want to do it right. I was looking @ the stainless works with the cats and x-pipe. Just under 2 grand. I want something that's gonna last the life of vehicle. I'm going to replace stock mufflers. Im either gonna do flow master super 10 series or just a glass pack. Going for as free flowing as possible. Will be doing a cold air intake probably the roush cold air intake. All things I did on my Chevy. But with the chevy I needed a tune that never got done. I remember seeing some company where you send your vehicle info and what mods you have and they send you a tune for it. Any ideas or suggestions for something like that? But as far as performance that's all I plan to do. Thanks for the input.
Start with a tune...period.
You’re gonna need it to optimize everything for the LT’s. Skip anything Flowmaster...look at Magnaflow or something that actually sounds good on a Coyote. In all honesty the LT’s are overkill...the oem manifolds flow very well. Look at the MAK or SPD y-pipes. If you go catless that’s 85% of the power you would gain with LT’s for 1/4 the cost. If you do go with the SW LT’s with X pipe that’s their “performance connect” system so you’ll need a full dual 3” cat-back to run with that system.
Again...without a tune all of that is a waste.

I am running Dynatech 1/ 78 headers and their off road connect system thru a Vibrant silencer thru Magnaflow side exit exhaust. I am very happy with this system Plus you save a lot of money on the headers. A good bit of the cost in headers is in advertisement from the big companies. Dyntach's quality is just as good and I have run all the big name brands in the past.
IMHO Like Unbroken said a tune is the most essential thing. Second if you can afford to drop 2k get your truck regeared it makes a world of difference especially if you are gonna run bigger tires. Also a Pedal Commander is an awesome device makes the truck feel so much more responsive. If I wasn't as far along on my truck now and I had to do it all over agin I would have
1. Bought a 2019 F-150 Single Cab 5.0 10 speed auto 4x4
2. Installed 4:10 gears
3. Belltech drop suspension
4. Traction Bars
5. Custom E-85 tune from Palm Beach, 5 Star or OZ
6. Peddle Commander
and call it a day with a mid 12 second truck.
