Default Adding a Top Tier Tune

Couple questions from a newbie:

Will the OEM trans and driveshaft tolerate a good tune's power increase? That F150 driveshaft makes me a little nervous. Can the OEM 10 speed trans handle one?

Plenty of people have tuned 10 speed trucks and they handle it just fine. Ford sells a 700 hp supercharger for the 5.0 that uses the same transmission as your truck.

What makes you concerned about the driveshaft?

Look down one thread. 850 wheel on stock shaft...

Driveshaft is the least of your concerns. Go with Gearhead for tuning on the ecoboost. Their new tunes are the best.

The 10R80 is rated at 800 NM (Torque) which is roughly 750 HP max. Assume the drivetrain is rated about the same.
Here’s a list of tuners who specialize in the F-150.

Speed is the problem with driveshaft, it doesn't like speeds over 130mph. And even that is mostly the 2piece shaft. The 1pc solid shaft is much better.

Driveshaft is not a concern
