Yes, the stock Ford tune will pick up that power going to 91 or 93.

When did OZ start tuning Ecoboost?

I want a tune but I'm worried some. Will a tune affect longevity of the engine? What are the tuners to stay away from? My powertrain warranty is up in October so warranty is not an issue.

It uses the knock sensors to infer the octane

Well, when i ran 87 it ran 2 degrees less timing literally everywhere until i switched to 93, where it picked up 2 degrees of timing (automatically) and was significantly more peppy. It's noticeable for sure.

Ford says 91/93 is used for "towing" to increase performance. What they meant was it makes more power and resists detonation even under increased engine and intake temps.

My buddy that tunes (vittuned) has an F150 and he confirmed to me that it adds precisely 2 degrees of timing. Both the gen1 and the gen2 add 2 degrees of timing.

I am not disagreeing with you on the increased timing with 93. But the butt dyno more pep is not documentation. Before and after same day dyno runs would be, drag strips ET slips could be. I would think if it's true your tuner friend would have dyno sheets of stock on 87 and stock on 93.

There are literally tons of stock dyno sheets with 87 and 93.

Go to 5star tunings website or just google.

Every degree of timing is worth at least 10hp
