Just so everyone knows what type of seller they're dealing with here, I'll fill you in... I PM'd the seller after his initial listing of this grille (at $150) and offered $150 shipped and provided my zipcode for his reference. He countered with $175 shipped and I agreed, then promptly paid him. He said he would ship today and provide me tracking info afterwards. Instead of tracking info, I get an PM stating that he underestimated shipping and it was going to cost $54 and he couldn't afford to sell to me at $175, so either I send him $19 extra (he would be nice and cover $10) or he would refund me.
I wasn't terribly concerned about the deal, and was not willing to spend more than $175 for this grille as they can be had pretty easily at that price or less, so I said just refund it if you're not willing to honor the deal. He then offered it for $14 more, to which I again said no, just refund it.
It was at this point that I felt this post became necessary, as he then replied by stating I was "just one of those guys", not "being understanding", wanted him to "eat the cost because he misquoted me" and couldn't even "split the cost for my item". Umm, considering that he listed the grille at $150 and I paid $175, I'm pretty sure that I'm splitting shipping already...
Anyway, he did eventually refund my money, but his attitude was pretty crappy and I don't take lightly to having my character questioned or insulted. I've been around the internet auto forums and ebay about as long as they've been around, buying and selling constantly, and I have never asked a buyer for more money after agreeing on a price, had a negative feedback, or not followed through on a purchase for an agreed upon price.
That said, good luck to any prospective buyers from this guy, but I'd stay away if I was you....

Yeah, that's ridiculous. Thanks for the heads up Danlong. I feel that's warranted. He seems to only frequent this forum to sell anyway.

Hahaha like bickering children. I simply made a mistake and underestimated shipping. Tried to work out a deal. And in truth when I made the extra effort and went to FedEx. They quoted me $90 for shipping. Ive shipped something close to this size in the past and didn't pay nearly as much, which is apparently why I underestimated. As for visiting this site only to sell, that's better than turning it into a drama filled chat room like you two have clearly turned it into. Get a life. It isn't like I tried to rip someone off. I simply underestimated shipping and couldn't afford to cover the additional cost for what I had asked for shipping. Glad you guys have the class and simple understanding of such a thing. Danlong- stop crying simply cause you didn't have the $$ to cover additional shipping and now you've gotta run your ugly chrome grill from the 90s. I've sold a few things on here and others can contest, there hasn't been any issues. And because your personal life, looks just like your bickering on the forum, you bring that here over me misquoting a shipping cost hahaha. What are we in high school? Good class bud

"Eventually" refund your money.. haha now you're starting to really drag it out and give people the perception of something untrue. So in other words your beginning to lie to make me look bad? You were refunded an hour after our correspondence. That's pretty damn normal to me. So don't make it look like poor me, write this big post just in hopes I have a hard time selling my grill now. Hope you feel like a real man now haha

So we will just say that, yes, I was way off in my estimate of $25 haha. But really is it that big of a deal. Dalong needs to act like I am some store and had a "contract binding" agreement simply because I said $175 shipped. Lets be real, if I underestimated by a few bucks I would have ate the cost, but I was way off and as soon as I found that out I wrote him a message to try and work something out. Mind you this is all within about an hour total of time. Me running around trying to do the best I can and notifying the buyer of every move. It would be much different if this got dragged out for days, but it was over the course of an hour, from initial attempt to ship to full refund. Seems reasonable to me. But... I have seen kids throw tantrums when they don't get what they want, here is a prime example!

I guess I'm a man of my word, when shipping is more than I guessed, that's on me. If it's way past my estimation I'd prob offer a refund first, and promote a local sale.
