Wipers only work on high
Hello! I recently purchased a used 2012 F-150 ftx. I love it but there are already some issues that the dealer won’t help me with. So! Here I am.
I found that the washer fluid pump doesn’t work and the wipers only work in the high setting. I was planning on changing the pump myself, but I don’t know where to start with the wipers. I don’t know too much about vehicles but I’m willing to try to save some money from taking it to a mechanic.
Any help would be great.

In my 2010 fuses F45 and F49 power the wiper motor, Check them and check your manual to see if it's the same fuses. The wiper switch grounds at pin 15 of the switch and should connect to ground at G202, check it. There's not much else in the circuit, the switch applies ground to one of more of four leads that go to the wiper motor. Is your windshield washer pump working? It's controlled by a 5th lead from the switch but also goes through the wiper motor electronics.
Oops Ok I see that you said that the pump isn't working. Check fuse 49 (in my 2010 model). It supplies power to the pump relay. The relay is part of the wiper motor assy, you can't access it.

Save your energy. The 2010 (and the reported experience with it) aren't relevant to the 2012. There was a generational shift in the control electronics between those models that included the wiper/washer functions.
On the 2012, the MFS is nothing but an input to the computer system to tell it the operator's intent.

From what I can tell, the high speed position is the only position where the wiper signal doesn't route through the electronics but goes directly to a relay that then drives the motor so it sounds like the electronics in the wiper motor might have failed. The washer pump motor is also controlled through the wiper motor electronics.
