Default Window motor

I have a 05 f150 4.6 v8 Texas Edition. My front drivers side window motor has gone out. Can anyone tell me if I have to replace the entire window assembly (regulator and motor) or can I replace the motor alone? Thanks.

I've done this on a 2004 and it was the motor and regulator together. It didn't look like they were easily separated, that was from ford you may be able to find just the motor but I don't know how easy it will be to separate. The assembly as a whole is quite easy to install.

Default Thank you

Thanks for the info. I called my local ford house and they told me the motor wasn't self serviceable, and I needed the whole assembly. I just don't like taking a mechanics word for it.

Yea he's right. I'm sure you could separate the two but it looked like more trouble than it was worth. Much easier to replace the assembly.
