Default Whine while in gear

I bought my truck a little over a month ago with 20,000 miles on it. Before I actually took delivery I had our local dealer take a look at it. Everything checked out and I bought it. A couple of days ago I noticed a whine while it was in gear. Nothing in neutral or park, but when in gear it would hum a little. I took it down to the dealer yesterday and they said that they are going to be replacing a pump and the torque converter. How worried should I be, and how difficult of a job is this? Anybody else have this problem? The truck ran and shifted fine. I have recently pulled my boat, but at 5000lbs this shouldn't be an issue. Any advice or thoughts wopuld be appreciated.

I got the truck back this morning and the whine is gone. They weren't sure if it was the converter or the pump so they replaced them both. The truck sounds right, and shifts like it should. Should I wait awhile to break it in before I tow my 23' Malibu? Is there a break in period or am I good to go.
