I was changing spark plugs and broke this line. Check engine light is also on now when it wasn't before

It appears to be one of the A/C vacuum lines with a directional check valve. Look at the firewall area on the passengers side for more hoses like the red one you're holding. These hoses get brittle with age and snap off. You can splice it with vacuum hose. The check engine light is on because there is a vacuum leak now and the motor is running lean
