Upgrading Spark Plugs
Ok I have heard the spark plug problem on the stock plugs. I want to go ahead and change them now at 30,000miles. Where are the options of getting them etc..?
This is the style we need correct? Im new to the new spark plugs

Ran across this concerning changing the plugs on a 5.4. After looking at this I am sure glad I have a 302 V8 in my truck.

And here is a source for your sparkplugs.

For an engine that is found in such large numbers it seems your choices for spark plugs are
some what limited. I have long favored Bosch platinum.
I just learned a real interesting thing, if you are running NOX do not use
platinum plugs, use Iridium instead.

Trashmaster I mean no disrespect, whoever wrote that article in the first link dosen't know his tail from a hole in the ground. The 4.6 are COP now too. You do not have to remove the fuel rail.. Well at least on the pre 3v 5.4 you didn't. The plug he showed is pre 3v. TSB 06-15-2 states what I have said for years.. Do not put antiseize on the threads. On the new plugs you can put it on the blank area below the threads not on the threads. The new plugs are a 9/16 not 5/8.

He mentioned in the text everyone had a different way of doing this job. removing the fuel rails, leaving them on. I do not have one of these engine I have no way of evaluating it. good photo's though. I noticed the anti seize thing too, really stupid they nickel plate the threads to prevent seizing.

ok new o forums but have had my f-150 for 3 years it is a 2004 f-150 3v 5.4L. what is the issue with plugs i have 59,000 miles on my original. everyone here seems to think that changing them now is best. if it is then what model and brand is everyone using, and do they make plasma plugs yet or shoud i go with something else till then, and getting reading o get an edge programmer and K&N cold air induction, how much with this change desicion on which plugs i get.
