Default Tune Up Question

Hello all,
First, please forgive my ignorance. I'm a new truck owner and a partially knowledgeable sometimes shade tree mechanic.

So, I just got a 2010 4.6L 4x2 with 120K miles on it. Of course, the owner's manual has all the things listed that I should have done at 120K, but someone also told me I should have the transmission flushed and a new filter there as well. Now, I'm at a point where I want to get all this done at one time. If I go to my local Ford service shop and say "give it a tune up," what does that entail? Do I have to give them a list of everything I want done? If so, are there any other things I should tell them to do, given the mileage?
Thanks.

Tell them what exactly you want done.

Is the term "tune up" even applicable with modern automobile engines?

Follow the manual. But yes, tell them specifically what services you want done.

Sure.. tune-up means at least change the plugs, boot and springs.

This ^^^. You can find what needs to be done by reviewing all the services up to that point and trying to figure out if they did them.

If you say "give it a tune-up", don't be surprised when the list of work to be performed is 3x what you want done. NEVER be ambiguous, and never buy any "package" on the wall, like "100,000 mile service".
