Unhappy Trouble with a code?

I am working on a 94 F150 for a friend they installed a motor (salvage yard) & check engine light is on but the truck runs great. If I clear the codes it is hard to start & you have to floor it to get it to start after the light comes on it starts with no problems.
I scanned it with a Snap on scanner & I get a 118 & 552 they installed a new temp switch (gauge) and a new ECT sensor.
The ECT voltage should be 0.5 to 0.7v & I am getting 4.63
Any help or ideas would be appreciated

Odds are you will need to swap the ECU of that engine. Believe 302 is a Hollander 590-03741 around $100 used. Try old parts off your old motor first though.

friend,

What year motor was installed in the 1994 truck. Is it a 302 or I6? This truck is OBDI, I went to the OBDI website and it does not list any 3 digit codes for Ford.

Sorry I cannot be more helpfull.

Merry Christmas
