Transmission problems...please help
Hello all, I have a 1992 f150 xlt
4x4 5 speed with 163000 miles on it. I was hauling a 2200lb trailer empty on the interstate going 60 and all the sudden I heard a pop and my shifter pushed out of gear and the clutch pedal went all the way to the floor. after sitting for about 20 mins I got pressure on the clutch pedal again but I was able to put the gear selector into every gear, with the engine
running without touching the clutch except 4th, but with no result. If I tried to force into 4th gear it will inch the truck forward then slip out of gear again. Once I got it to move forward, it did so in every gear including reverse. No fluid leakage or unusual gear grinding except when I try to force 4th gear. Any ideas? My dad suggested possibly shifting forks. Thanks for your help.
You got it into every gear except 4th with the engine running without engaging the clutch? If that is the case, 1, 2, 3, R have something wrong.
