I am new to this forum. I also was unsure where to post this, so if this is the wrong spot I do apologize. I'm posting this for my dad by the way, any help would be greatly appreciated!


My dad was given a 97 F150 4x4. The complaint was that the tranny was bad.


After a little bit of driving it went "bang, bang bang" no reverse, no forward. Before everything worked, now nothing.


When attempting to put in park you can hear parking paw trying to engage. No driveshaft movement.


Is this a transmission problem or a transfer case problem?
