Default tranny question

In about 1k more miles, I am going to change the fluid in my 02, it has the standard tranny in it. Where is the drain plug for it, and where do I put it back in? I know there is a plug somewhere to do it. Thanks Trey

Default No drain plug

There is no drain plug in it. You loosen all the trans pan bolts except for the rear ones and remove them, but make sure you have a large catch pan under it because it's going to pour mostly from the front and a little from the sides. After most of the fluid is drained, take out the remaining bolts and lower the pan. Drain the remaining fluid out, clean the pan out with some brake parts cleaner, install the new filter and reinstall the pan and gasket, then tighten the bolts making sure not to strip the holes. You fill it back up by using a transmission funnel in the dipstick/filler tube. Start with four quarts, then start the truck and run it through the gears slowly. Check your fluid and add more as needed being careful not to overfill. That should do it. Have a good one.
