Trailer Sway Control & MPG
I know there are post related to this. And some people don’t believe it effects mpg. But hear me out. My 2011 f150 with 150k miles benefited from completely disabling TSC via ForScan. Went from 15city/17hwy to 17city/21hwy. Essentially got back to brand new mpg.
Now something to think about. My braking system is in decent shape. I’m well over due for new brake fluid. My rotors are fairly new. Front pads have some good life left and rear pads need replacing. I plan on doing a complete brake job. New pads all around. New fluid. New rubber brake lines. Cleaning calipers and replacing all the o-rings and boots.
After doing a complete brake job I will reenable TSC to see if it is in deed a TSC problem or a dirty brake system causing pads to stick.
What say you on this matter? Peeps with newer trucks and low miles did disabling TSC help you? I rarely tow but do you really need TSC if your trailer/truck is setup correctly?

I don't see how the sway control can have an impact on the mpg.
I also don't know that I would disable mine.
Its one of those features that most won't use or experience...but its that one time you need it that it will save your lives!
Even if you do do everything right...all you need is to hit a slump or dip in an uneven roadway to cause your truck/trailer to begin to sway.
Anyone who has experienced this will know what I mean.
The sway control as per my experience does not make a brake application...but does engage a particular wheel's ABS in order to straighten out the units.
