I got a question for anyone who can help me. I have an 08 F150 5.4L and been having some trouble with it lately. It doesn't idle forward at all and when I drive very slow like between I'd say 3-5 miles per hour for extended periods of time this horrible knocking and ticking sound from under the hood. I put it in park today and looked under the hood and the whole engine was shaking pretty hard. I recorded a sound bite that I can email to anyone who can help.

 

I had a 2007 that occasionally knocked at lower rpms. I heard several different explanations for it but they all boiled down to,... I wouldn't worry about it. I drove it doing that from about 35,000 miles to the 90,000 it has now. Never a problem from it. I have heard several 5.4's doing it.

 

I would definetly have it checked just in case though. I had several different techs look at mine.
