Question Throttle Position Sensor

I was driving down the road two days ago and my check engine light came on, and then not 20 minutes later the wrench light came on. Went and got it diagnosed and it says I need to replace my throttle body sensor. The dealership quoted me $400 for a whole new throttle body but can I not just buy a new sensor myself and solve the problem? Didn't know if anyone else has had a problem with this or not.

The 97-03 years you can change the sensor, the 04 up drive by wire throttle body not so sure about. I'm sure others that do know will chime in.

What year is the truck? 04-08 the throttle position sensor can be replaced without any trouble. Just make sure you know how to correctly remove the wire connector or you could break it.
