Throttle Issue
I'm having an issue with my throttle as of this morning. I was driving in to work normally and on 3 occasions, I lost all response in my throttle pedal. Meaning that… I step on the gas and nothing happens! At first I thought the engine stalled, but it did not. It was still idling. I put the truck in park, shut off the engine and re started the engine and it worked fine… until it did it 2 more times as I was driving on busy streets(hard to put the hazards on and get over in an instant) anyway… It seems electrical and the wrench(maintenance) light comes on when this happens. Can anyone advise as to what my issue is? and the fix? Is there an easy cheap solution or am I in for some serious costs? I can do some work myself but not major stuff.
A tad more background and info… I live in the Mid-west and it has been -0 temps for a few days so things are a bit sluggish lately(but nothing out of the norm), I ran over a curb last week and hit the underside of the truck on the curb and since there is a rattling sound at low rpm's. I looked underneath the truck(while it is rattling) and I can't find the issue for the life of me. It sounds like a heat shield or random piece of metal rattling. Not sure if that is ay all related to my issue. I have 136000 miles. 5.4 flex fuel Super Cab.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Scott
