Default Strange steering input

2011 f150 screw w/ 5.0l. At almost any speed above 20 mph, if I make an adjustment to the steering wheel (i.e. minor right or left adjustment) the steering wheel will lag when I have adjust back. It is hard to describe, almost as if the steering is stuck in that spot. It does not take much force to move the steering wheel, it is just disconcerting the first few times it happens. I thought that the truck has power steering, but is it speed compensated? Just wondering if I need to take this to a mechanic.

It sounds like there's an issue with the steering gear or a bad column bushing. There are no speed compensators on steering that I'm aware of. The steering should be smooth at any speed. There's an outside chance you have a steering control arm issue as well. I'd have it looked at. Good luck.
