Default strange behavior after engine swap

Hi Everyone,

Wanted to see if anyone has ran into something similiar to what I've been troubleshooting. I have a 2014 fx4 f150 5.0. I recently had the dealership do an engine swap with a new v8 5.0. the next day, after driving about 50-60 miles, while I was driving down the road the engine light started blinking and I lost engine power. Even with the peddle pressed all the way to the floor the engine would not respond. I still had electrical power, radio playing, ac fan was blowing but no longer blowing cold air. This behavior lasted about 30seconds, then the engine started responding again and returned to running correctly without me taking any action. For the next 50 miles, no problems at all. Then the next day again after driving about 50 miles, the same behavior happened again. Check Engine light started blinking and the engine would not respond.

I took it back to the dealership and they drove it 100 miles, and the issue did not reoccur for them. They said they pulled the codes, but there was no codes which were thrown

has anyone ever experienced anything crazy like this? and/or does any one have any ideas as to how to further troubleshoot this?

thanks in advance

There should be codes stored, a flashing check engine light, means there was an active misfire present that is catalyst damaging, which is why you lost power. I bet the dealer did not do the misfire relearn procedure, nor clear the pcm KAM when they got done.
