Default Starting Issues - Help?

Hi all,

First time poster here. Having a bit of a problem with my '84 F150. I had the carb off to change out some gaskets on it, as well as tighten down a few screws that had come loose. I got everything put back together and tried to start the truck back up...nothing. It's not even trying to start up. No clicks or anything. It was firing up prior to me taking the carburetor off (though I would have to give it some gas to come up).

I only disconnected things that were attached to the carb, so I'm not sure what I did wrong here. I am admittedly a noob when it comes to mechanics, so it could be something simple.

Any ideas?

Much appreciated.

-Jake

Check with @Steve83 he's a whiz with the older models. I do seem to recall something along the lines of the choke wire and a possible fuse but it's been 3 lifetimes ago since I worked on anything that old.

When you say "no clicks" I am assuming no rotation of starter. Make sure your battery connections and the ground at the engine block are clean (of course make sure the battery is good). You need power on the small wire plugged onto the starter solenoid to energize it to get the starter going. Check those out and let us know what you find.
